Updating a payment schedule in 8am LawPay is simple:
Click the Schedule tab on the left sidebar.
Use the search bar (top right) to find the client.
Pro tip: Searching by last name is the fastest method.
Click on the specific record to view and edit its details.
4. Click Edit on the details page of the schedule to update the card number, frequency of payments, dollar amount of each occurrence, and final dollar amount.
5. You can also click Cancel Schedule to cancel the schedule on this screen, or Delete to delete the record of it entirely.
In the Edit screen, you will see the details that you can change, including the client details, the payment schedule cadence, and the payment details.
β
If the card information or bank account information was changed, the schedule will use that updated information moving forward.
If there is a failed attempt on the schedule in the past, and you need to collect that payment using the updated information, you will need to edit the due date of the payment to today's date.
Using the retry button next to the failed attempt will use the previously attempted information. The system will run the payment at the top of the next hour. After that, you can set the date back to the proper date for payments.
β
Note: You cannot change the deposit (or destination) account. For example, if you create a profile on the operating account it cannot be transferred to your trust; you will need to establish a new payment profile on your trust account. This also means that you cannot switch a card payment to an eCheck payment.
