Welcome to the future of legal payments. LawPay has integrated Apple Pay to provide your clients with a seamless, secure, and modern checkout experience. This guide covers everything you need to know about how Apple Pay works.
Why Use Apple Pay?
Clients already use Apple Pay to buy coffee, book flights, and pay for almost everything else in their lives. When they can pay your invoice the same way, they're more likely to pay it faster and less likely to abandon the process halfway through.
More payments completed: A familiar, one-tap checkout removes the friction that causes clients to delay or drop off before finishing.
Less follow-up for your team: Faster, easier payments mean fewer outstanding invoices and less time chasing clients down.
Clients feel confident paying: Apple Pay uses the same secure technology clients trust for every other purchase. No card numbers typed, no hesitation.
The Client Experience
When a client accesses your payment page on a supported Apple device, they will see an Apple Pay button in the Express Checkout section.
Visibility: The feature is placed above traditional payment options to encourage fast checkout.
Availability: Apple Pay will be available on all payment pages.
Supported Devices and Browsers
To use Apple Pay, your clients must be using a compatible Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) with the latest version of iOS or macOS. Payments must be processed through the Safari browser.
Important Merchant Considerations
Surcharging: LawPay supports surcharging on standard Apple Pay transactions. However, note that surcharging may differ on "Apple Pay Later" virtual cards.
Apple Pay Later: Apple offers a "Pay Later" option within their wallet. LawPay does not control this option, as it is a default behavior of the Apple ecosystem.
Opt-out: If you wish to disable this feature, please contact LawPay Support. Future updates will include merchant settings for manual control.
Troubleshooting & Support
If you or your clients encounter issues, please check the following:
Ensure the device and OS are up to date.
Confirm the client is using the Safari browser.
Verify that Apple Pay is enabled in the device's "Wallet & Apple Pay" settings.
We value your input. Please send any feedback or issue reports to [email protected].
